My top three interests were Artistic, Enterprising, and then Social/Realistic. I was surprised that it was in that order because I feel I am more Social and Realistic than Enterprising. The order I gave myself was S, R, A, E, C, I. I define social interests by my love to communicate and be around people. I also love to help people. Realistic to me is defined as using logic rather than daydreaming about the impossible. I also see realistic-"ness" as being a goal setter and one who makes lists. On the other hand I find myself to be very imaginative artisticly as well. I love creating things and expressing myself through art.
My top 5 work values were: way of life, security, supervisory relationships, economic return, and altruism. To me, "way of life" means I cannot be in a job that conflicts with my personal beliefs, whether they be moral or social. I also believe that I don't want my work to define me--I want a life outside of my career. I believe job security is an important value because I don't want to have to worry about whether I will have a job. I want stability because I don't like gambling. Supervisory relationships are also very important to me because I know what it is like to have a boss who is unpleasant, and it can make working very miserable. Similar to security is economic return. I'd like to have financial security and make a good living for myself. Lastly is altruism, which relates back to my social interest. I want a job which helps people or involves working with people. I matched up with the Media Arts and Design Major well, as well as Communication Studies, and International Affairs/Business. These majors all interest me and I look forward to researching them more thoroughly.
